Ms. Walker - Advanced Graphic Design
This week, we covered The Graphic Design Process and what each step consists of. This also allowed them to see what is expected when we go into working individually on assignments in the future. Students used these steps to prepare a new advertisement for a popular artist who has had a few issues with sales lately. They will make their final touches and present their work to each other on Monday.
Mr. Watts — Algebra II
This week we continued our lesson on Linear Equations. We discussed solving Linear Equations and the process of solving with fractions. Thursday we also had a quiz for the first time this year which went really well. This upcoming week we will have a group presentation that'll be due on Thursday.
Ms. Carter — Physics/Engineering
Join us this week as we dive further into velocity, acceleration and frame of reference. Then, we will move into two-dimensional motion.
On Thursday, we get to meet Mr. Karl Renner, retired Electrical Engineer for Texas Instruments and will begin the planning process for group builds.
Mr. Henson — English III
This week we have worked on current events, sentence types, the essentials of narrative, and preparation for writing 100-word memoirs. Next week, we will continue with current events, write our 100-word memoirs, and use Newsela to determine baseline reading levels.

This week, we began our discussion of the Gilded Age by looking at the Homestead Act and the Transcontinental Railroad. Next week, we will give a look at entrepreneurs of the era, specifically robber barons like Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Morgan.
