Communication is the ability to share information clearly and effectively with others, while also demonstrating strong listening and evaluation skills (Common Sense Education, 2024). In Health and Physical Education (HPE), effective communication skills are essential for enhancing students' collaborative abilities and fostering a deeper understanding of various sports and activities. Communication can occur in many forms, including verbal instructions, demonstrations, and other non-verbal cues. Integrating technology into HPE through the use of communication platforms enables students to engage effectively with others and articulate their thoughts accordingly.

Google Classroom is a web-based educational platform that facilities classroom management, organisation and communication (Edwards, 2021). It helps educators create engaging learning experiences that can be personalised, managed, and measured (Google, n.d.). Educators can use the platform to post class announcements, upload assignments and surveys, share lesson plans, and provide feedback (Edwards, 2021). Google Classroom allows students to track assignment due dates, discuss topics with peers, submit classwork, and privately communicate with teacher (Cornell, 2020). The platforms design allows for simple integration of learning content from google docs, sheets, slides, sites, Calander and gmail (Edwards, 2021). In a HPE context, Google Classroom keeps students focused during discussions about nutrition, health, and fitness, allowing them to share resources such as links and videos (Umhafer, 2020). 

Microsoft Forms is an intuitive web-based tool that enables users to efficiently gather information through surveys, quizzes and voting polls (Microsoft, n.d.). The platform offers various question types including multiple-choice, text, ratings, and linear scales (Microsoft, n.d.). Its well-structured and professional layout enhances users' communication skills by providing clear articulation of thoughts and opinions (Keet, 2024). Users can share their content with other to gather responses and collect data and results (Keet, 2024). HPE educators can utilise Microsoft Forms to create interactive lessons, conduct formative assessments, and better understand students' individual learning needs, fostering a dynamic learning environment (Keet, 2024). The instant feedback element not only supports self-reflection after assessments but also enhances students' digital communication skills, both of which are essential in HPE and the workforce (Keet, 2024).
