Zamora Memorial College (ZMC) is a private academic institution of higher learning founded in 1948 by Mr. Crispin Vergara at the municipality of Bacacay, Albay. The establishment of the college was brought upon by the mission to make secondary education accessible to the Bacacayanos.
The institution specializes in Teacher Education programs. Under its belt is an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, and Secondary Education (with majors in Technology and Livelihood Education, Filipino, Araling Panlipunan, and MAPEH). In addition to these programs is a certificate program in Teaching, which is considered as a pre-requisite if a student, who do not have a degree in Education, desires to take up the licensure examinations for teachers.
Throughout the years, Zamora Memorial College has produced a number of graduates who have made notable contributions in the society including Christine S. Bellen, a professor at Ateneo de Manila University who authored the illustrated anthology of "Mga Kwento ni Lola Basyang; Marcial Bellen, Ruben Cenita, and Rommel Marquez recognized as Ten Outstanding Teachers of Albay for the years 2009, 2010, and 2012, respectively; others have become executive position of their respective companies both in the Philippines and abroad, and successful entrepreneurs.
