The Boutique at Seneca

A hands-on learning experience of understanding what it takes to operate a successful retail store operation. Gaining a breadth of knowledge in POS systems, opening & closing procedures, loss prevention, markup and profitability as well as customer service skills in a retail environment.

Member of the communication team at Seneca's boutique, located at the Newnham campus. In charge of working alongside a team to create weekly visual merchandising schedules, promotional calendars, plan/execute weekly events and promotions, set and monitor weekly objectives and create in-store signage and posters. 

Examples of posters and in-store signage that was created at various different times throughout the fall 2019 season. Posters aided in successful promotions and sales targets being met.

Examples of social media posts created for the boutiques Instagram page to create awareness and attract viewers into the boutique. Content was successful in increasing follower base and in-store foot traffic. 

Examples of most successful promotions and event strategies during fall 2019 that led to surpassing sales targets and generating high profits. A joint effort of effective social media strategies, planning, promotional tactics and in-store displays and signage leading to great success and goals being achieved. 

Responsible for analyzing sales results and comparing them to set objectives and the overall relation to the boutiques communication strategy. Working alongside visual merchandisers, planners and operational management to maximize success and achieve the best results. In charge of preparing marketing materials on a weekly basis and participate in weekly meetings with peers and professors to discuss strategies used in the past or for future weeks ahead.
