London's Junior Number Theory Seminar 2022-2023

The new LJNTS website for 2023-2024 is https://www.juniornumbertheory.uk !

Hello! Welcome to London Junior Number Theory Seminar's website!

There are two goals for this seminar:

the first goal is to provide a bridge between the (adult) London Number Theory Seminar and regular number theory lecture courses, to provide talks to new PhDs, and to provide a social environment to the academic community;

the second goal is to provide a platform, a stage for everyone to share the beautiful mathematics that they think it is, to everyone who is interested. If you are so excited about knowing a beautiful construction, don't hesitate to contact us!

The topics can vary from all number-theory related mathematics area-from algebraic number theory to analytic number theory, from elliptic curves to modular forms, algebraic geometry from characteristic 0 to characteristic p, from all different cohomology theories-I am deeply convinced that everyone knows something so special and precious to others!

This week, we will have the last event of this year's Junior Number Theory Seminar:

13th June: Dominik Bullach

Title: The `minus part’ of the equivariant Tamagawa Number Conjecture

Abstract: A big branch of number theory is concerned with linking up special values of L-series with arithmetic data. In this talk, I will review what is known about the values of Dirichlet L-series at s = 0, with the aim of ending up at the statement of the `minus part’ of the equivariant Tamagawa Number Conjecture. The latter was recently proved in joint work with Burns, Daoud, and Seo.

Past talks:

The snacks and travel fee for this seminar are funded by LSGNT.
