During my classroom observation at the Laboratory Schools, I noticed that the teacher used interactive and student-centered teaching methods. The teacher began the lesson by greeting the students and checking attendance. After that, the teacher reviewed the previous lesson before introducing the new topic. This helped students recall what they had learned and connect it with the new material.

During the lesson, the teacher explained the material using clear examples and simple explanations so students could easily understand it. The teacher also encouraged students to participate by asking questions and allowing them to share their ideas and opinions. Sometimes, the teacher used pair work and group discussions so that students could collaborate and practice their communication skills.

The learning materials used in the classroom included textbooks, worksheets, and additional materials prepared by the teacher. These materials followed the competencies in the MATATAG Curriculum. To make the lesson more engaging, the teacher sometimes used creative activities such as vocabulary games, short exercises, and simple speaking tasks. The teacher also connected the lesson with students’ daily experiences so that the learning process became more meaningful and easier to understand.

Teachers at the Laboratory School used several learning resources to support classroom instruction. The main sources were textbooks and printed materials that followed the MATATAG Curriculum guidelines.

In addition, teachers sometimes used technology such as projectors, PowerPoint presentations, videos, and other digital resources. These tools helped present the lesson in a more visual and interactive way and helped students stay focused during the learning process.

The teacher used various forms of authentic assessment to evaluate students’ learning progress. Assessment was not only conducted through written tests but also through classroom participation, speaking activities, group work, assignments, and quizzes. Through these activities, the teacher could observe students’ understanding of the material and their communication skills while also providing feedback to help them improve.

Another important thing that I observed was the positive relationship between the teacher and the students. The teacher created a supportive classroom environment where students felt comfortable asking questions and participating in discussions. The students were also very responsive and respectful to their teacher, which made the learning process run smoothly and effectively.
