Yunita's Journey
Inspiring Learning Through the SEA-Teacher Program
Inspiring Learning Through the SEA-Teacher Program
Hello everyone!
My name is Yunita Dwi Rahmani, an English Education student from Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, Indonesia. I am grateful for the opportunity to take part in the SEA-Teacher Program organized by SEAMEO, which allows pre-service teachers to experience teaching and learning in another country.
Through this program, I am currently completing my teaching practicum in the Philippines, where I am hosted by the University of Northern Philippines. This experience allows me to observe real classroom situations, work with local teachers, and teach English to Grade 8 students at the Laboratory Schools.
Participating in this program has given me the chance to learn about a different educational environment and teaching practices. It also helps me develop my teaching skills, communication abilities, and confidence as a future educator.
This blog is created to document my journey throughout the SEA-Teacher program. Here, I will share my experiences during classroom observation, lesson preparation, and teaching practice. I will also reflect on the challenges I faced, the lessons I learned, and the insights I gained from the education system in the Philippines.
I hope that by sharing this journey, readers can gain a better understanding of my experience as a student teacher abroad and feel inspired to explore similar opportunities in the future.
