• Check your bow hold!
• When fingering, remember to:
  • Violin/Viola:
    • Put your thumb on the dot.
    • Relax your hand and shoulder.
    • Check for no bump on your left wrist (your palm or wrist should never touch the neck of your instrument).
    • Curve your fingers.
    • Place the tip of your finger on the string.
    • "Squish the bug!"
  • Cello:
    • Put your thumb on the dot.
    • Relax your hand and shoulder.
    • Spread your fingers apart like you are holding asoftball in your left hand.
    • Curve your fingers.
    • Place the tip of your finger on the string.
    • "Squish the bug!"
