Beginning in 4th grade, students may choose how to learn music, whether they choose to play a string instrument or through their voice!

Music classes are a year-long course of study, which includes two forty-minute music lessons per week.

Students will be participating in two performances throughout the school year - one in late January (during the day) and another one at the end of the school year (in the evening). There will be many other wonderful opportunities along the way as they participate in music!

College Park: Wednesday & Friday
Culverdale: Tuesday & Thursday

All students are given the opportunity to re-take tests to demonstrate growth and improvement before the end of each grading period.
Concerts / Performance Etiquette..................................................................................30%

Communicating Progress with Proficiency

Student progress will be assessed and communicated using the proficiency scale below:

Excelling (4): Demonstrates a deep understanding and application of the standard
Proficient (3): Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding and application of the standard
Developing (2): Demonstrates a basic understanding and application of the standard
Beginning (1): Demonstrates a limited understanding and application of the standard
