Practicing Tips

• When playing pizzicato (plucking), play these songs without looking at your plucking (right) hand.
• Sing the notes before playing.
• Write out the counting under the notes.
• Check your posture!
  • Violin/Viola -Stand tall, Instrument over the shoulder & parallel to the floor, feet flat on the floor.
  • Cello - Sit tall in the front half of your chair, feet flat on the floor.
• Remember to take the repeat sign when it is in your music!
• A half note receives 2 beats.
