The Hospice Turkey Shoot Regatta is jointly sponsored by Yankee Point Yacht Club  and Rappahannock River Yacht Club and hosted by Rappahannock Yachts at their marina in Irvington.   Eligible boats must be mono hulls 18 ft or longer and be designs older than 20 years.   Typically over 80 boats and 300+ sailors participate in this Regatta.   The racers are treated to a cocktail party on Friday evening, breakfast both mornings, dinner on Saturday, and hot dogs and beer during the awards ceremony on Sunday afternoon .

Called a Turkey Shoot at its inception as it was then held the day after Thanksgiving, it was moved to early October to attract more racers due to warmer weather and separation from a major holiday.

All proceeds go to Hospice Support Services of the Northern Neck and Riverside Hospice Agencies.
