Sail Trim for Cruisers
Former Club member and paramount local sailmaker, Jerry Latell will help us master the art of sail trim the evening of April 4 at the club. Not only is Jerry an engaging speaker and teacher he is also one of the most decorated local sailors and the voice of the Turkey Shoot Regatta. Come Thursday evening at 6:30 to learn the mysteries of telltales, draft, battens and the like. Maybe even twist (no! not twist!)

Learning to Sail, Part 2
After being flooded out twice, our learn-to-sail group will try again to meet aboard a modern cruising sailboat to learn more of the vocabulary of sailing and experience the actual thing.

Conversations at the Club: Commonwealth’s Attorney, Tony Spencer
Mr, Spencer represents the law enforcement agencies of the county in court and represents the victims of crime to make sure their rights are protected. He is also called on to inform the community about the justice system. He will have some comments about how we can work together for a more just and safe community. Wednesday, after potluck, May 15.

Conversations at the Club: Virginia Institute for Marine Science
A speaker from the Virginia Institute for Marine Science will be with us after the potluck on Wednesday, June 19th. They will talk about the ecology of the Bay – its health, fish resources tributaries, and -- oysters. Drop in for a great meal and a deeper appreciation of our playground. Happy hour 5, Potluck meat at 6, speaker 6:30 or so.
