YANKEE POINT YACHT CLUB
When Mary and Richard Wait dropped anchor in the Northern Neck back in 2015, thanks to a warm introduction from Will and Tara Linne, Yankee Point Yacht Club gained two adventurous spirits with saltwater in their veins! The Waits are no strangers to life on the water — their trusty Grand Banks trawler Wait N See has carried them all the way to West Palm Beach and back, collecting memories (and a few “lessons learned”) along the way.
Their adventure together began at St. Lawrence University, where they quickly realized that the horizon was only the beginning. After earning their bachelor’s degrees, Richard went on to complete his MD/PhD at the University of Vermont, while Mary earned her master’s degree there. They’ve since called Vermont, New York, and Massachusetts home — and still keep a lovely farm in Vermont. Mary spent 15 years teaching French and Spanish while also coaching and refereeing boys’ soccer (a true multitasker!). Richard built a remarkable career in general and pancreatic cancer surgery, finishing as Professor Emeritus at Tufts University School of Medicine. In her “second act,” Mary shifted gears into real estate before the two officially retired to enjoy life at a gentler pace.
These days, Richard is known locally for his fine woodworking (as featured in the Rappahannock Record) and his eye for photography, while Mary is always up for a good game — cards, board, or otherwise and is a quilter! Together they share three grown children spread across Florida, Vermont, and Virginia, and four grandchildren who keep life lively.
Bruce and Julie are originally from Great Falls, Virginia, but these days they are happily charting new waters. They have two children-a son in Arlington, VA and daughter and her family keep them visiting Scotland (not a bad excuse for travel!).
They have always been a sailing family, though along the way they have also filled their lives with cats, dogs, horses, cars, and plenty of gardening adventures. Bruce has a captain's license and casually raced the Governor's Cup more times than he can count.
He spent much of his career running East Coast divisions for national home builders before striking out on his own. Julie started out in accounting and bookkeeping but later found her calling working with seniors, especially those facing Alzheimer's and dementia.
Now, with their newly purchased trawler, they are excited for fresh adventures right here-and looking forward to meeting fellow boaters, swapping sea stories, and sharing a few laughs along the way.
Tara hails from Western PA and Will grew up in Fairfax, VA. So, how did they find our slice of heaven, the NNK? Well, Will played “beer hockey” (goalie) and mentioned to a teammate that they were saving up for Condo in Ocean City, MD so they could bring their dogs. (More on that later). A hockey buddy said, “Buy my neighbor’s house in NNK”! They had never heard of this area but looked at that house and passed on it but fell in love with the area and 2 months later found their perfect spot.
Will is retired after a career in Network Engineering. Tara has moved to the government for her final leg of her career and is the Director of Communication for USPS. That’s a demanding role! Prior to the USPS position, she was in graphic design, marketing/advertising. She hopes to retire in 2027.
As a side gig, because he was doing so before side gigs were ubiquitous, Will was a Master Parachute rigger for almost 30 years and still works wonders with his sewing machine.
Their Favorite activities – anything on the water! And you may catch DJ Will out and about around town spinning some tunes.
They have FOUR Dogs – Jessie Border Collie 12, Border Collie Lily 10, Baylee miniature Australian Shepherd 6 months, Westie Murphy 3, and cruise with ALL of them on their Gozzard Pirate Ship. Now that’s a sight to see.
Blaine and Lisa Fortin come to us as out-of-state mem-bers from near Houston, Texas, more precisely a mini-ranch outside Dickinson. There you might find an array of critters: Nigerian dwarf goats, chickens, a Bourbon turkey and a couple of standard poodles. In Virginia, they live on Bar Point, the northern half of Yankee Point, in the family residence of former members Roger and Jane Fortin. They are here when they can be, two or three times a season -- enough that they trailered a 15-foot Boston Whaler all the way from Texas to enjoy the local waters.
Both Lisa and Blaine come from sailing families. Lisa, born in St. Petersburg, Florida, grew up mostly in Texas but moved all around with family. She sailed with her dad on a number of boats, both monohull and catamaran. Lisa’s profession was in special education, but an interest in pastry arts had taken her northeast where she met Blaine at the American Yacht Club in Rye, New York. They sailed and married.
Blaine, for his part also sailed as a youth. His dad, Roger Fortin, was mentor to champion Bermuda racers and served as “President” of OpSail events in New York City. Together they sailed Long Island Sound, across the Atlantic, and in a number of Bermuda contests. Blaine followed his dad in the computer business providing IT services mainly for the petroleum industry. For a period, though, he was part of the US Senate Sergeant at Arms office in a space down the hall from Hillary Clinton.
Blaine comes about the title “Captain” honestly. He graduated from Tabor Academy, a Naval Academy prep school, before attending Roanoke College. During gaps in his IT career, he picked up a Coast Guard 100-ton license. In retirement, he captains big party boats, does boat deliveries, and helps reposition ocean vessels. He and Lisa are members of the Houston Yacht Club and, for 35 years, sailed on Galveston Bay and in the Gulf.
David and Rita are fully retired and live just outside of Kilmarnock on the eastern branch of the Corrotoman river. ( Although Rita does work part time at Lee's Restaurant in Kilmarnock just to have some "mad cash" for shopping at thrift shops and antique establish-ments.) David and Rita both served in the United States Air Force. David for six years working on something he cannot really discuss and Rita was in Base Supply so she could be assigned wherever David went. After the military Rita worked for University of Virginia Hospital as an office manager and David worked for the Depart-ment of Defense, then they both retired from a Virginia Public School system later in life. This year they will have been married 52 years! Rita loves to read, do crafts, gardening, and has recently ventured into the world of MahJong (totally confused according to her. David is continuing to remodel their home they purchased in 2022 when they moved to this area and hopes to be completely done this year. They have a 22ft Bayliner Trophy Center Console, and a 21ft Carolina Skiff that their oldest daughter Jennifer who lives on their property, uses for crabbing. Jennifer has her Virginia waterman card and is loving crabbing and oystering here!
While on a cruise to Mathews VA to visit family, new members, Jeff and Anne Miller, discovered the Corrotoman River and were immediately attracted to the area. That led to the 2006 purchase of a fixer-upper on Myer Creek for weekends and their future retirement. Anne retired in 2014, and in early 2015 Jeff joined her. That summer they sold their house in Northern Virginia and moved full-time to Myer Creek.
Anne and Jeff both grew up in boating families. Jeff’s family had a lakefront cottage on the Iowa/Minnesota border, and he learned to sail and powerboat at an early age. Anne’s father was an avid boater on the Potomac River and New York’s Finger Lakes and he passed his love of messing about on boats on to her. Over the years they have owned several boats of various sizes. They currently own a 26’ center console and enjoy sunset and cocktail cruises, fishing, exploring, and sharing time on the water with friends and family. Jeff and Anne enjoy traveling and have been to Europe and the UK three times since retirement. They also enjoy art, music and theater. During the winter months Jeff spends time in his woodworking shop.
They have three grown children: a son and family in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; a daughter and family in Reston, VA; and a son and family in Charlottesville, VA. They have five grandchildren ranging in age from 6 years old to 19 years old.
They are looking forward to meeting and getting to know the YPYC members and community.
David and Patricia ( Patti ) Newcomb lived in Montpelier Virginia for 24 years where they raised their two children, Samantha and Kendall. Their family enjoyed a Summer home on the Outer Banks and thought they would retire there but later decided it was too crowded as they prefer a more rural area. This decision led them to Urbanna VA. Where they purchased a a home on Lagrange Creek, which was a weekend project for several years. In 2014 they sold their Montpelier, Virginia home and moved to Urbanna as their permanent residence. After 2 additions to the home they decided to look for a property with a little beach for their three grandchildren, Maggie, Gabe and Everly. They found their property in Lancaster, Virginia, and built their new home, which they say was a very long and trying process but the lengthy process paid off and their three grandchildren can frequently be found splashing, fishing, enjoying life on one of their many stays during the Summer.
David and Patti both enjoy nature watching, boating, fishing, and crabbing, and usually have a nice amount of crab in the freezer from Patti's hands picking all during the season. This year’s harvest they were blessed with 20 pounds!
Recently they purchased a Class C RV and are excited about traveling soon with their new addition to their family, "Grady", aka Miniature Pinscher, who is quite the handful of a pup at the age 4 months. Currently his favorite chew toy is their hands! Thankfully they say he is starting to enjoy his squeaky toys! They also have a rescue German Shepherd, "Sheppy", who unfortunately is not fond of the RV at the ripe age of 13ish.
Patti worked in the Dentistry field for 30 plus years and was fortunate to retire in 2012, David has been in the Commercial Refrigeration / HVAC business for 45 years and is semi-retired. In 2010 they started their Commercial Refrigeration Company; NEWCOMB'S REFRIGERATION and their daughter Samantha recently took over the reins and now runs the company.
George literally built our club as we now know it. Once the Ole Sailors had some money and a site had been selected, George stepped in as Project Manager. With the help of many
others, he recommend the design, selected the contractor, picked the materials, and supervised the construction. Hardly a detail escaped his attention. Constantly we benefit from his ideas and abide by his checklists.
For two years now we have missed the Botts. George resigned to concentrate on his health. It worked; he and his partner are back. Marlene was very much a part of his healing. Her career as a registered nurse fostered skills that were essential in difficult times.
George has long been important to the management of the club. He served on the board as Commodore in 2013 and for years as Trustee. In 2015, he was honored with the Commodore’s Cup for continued outstanding service, and from 2014 to 2022 he managed the Hospice Turkey Shoot Regatta, bringing in just under a half a million dollars for hospice agencies. George played the wet game as well as the dry game. He served as crew on numerous boats, notably, on Warren Ryan’s most successful Whistler and Anker Madsen’s Stephanie. He and Marlene were familiar faces on cruises with their Grand Banks Trawler Ursa Major.
George also has been an important contributor to our community. He ran for a position on the county board of supervisors in 2016 but, fortunately, was defeated. Instead, he would work with all parties behind the scenes to help bring about important improvements: end of the boat tax, underwater cables off the Norris bridge, siting and financing of the new middle & high school, to name a few. In free time, he maintains his neighborhood’s roads.
Marlene and George live off the Western Branch in a wonderful contemporary house he built while living on their trawler. They are joined there by their daughter, Allison, a couple of handsome Portuguese Water Dogs, and a cat named Leo.
Oh, you might recognize George’s truck; the license is “YPYC.”
Paul and Dara purchased the lot across from YPYC and had a house built in 2020. They are both from Chicago suburbs and met working at Toys “R” Us. Paul jokingly says he saw Dara on a ladder doing overstock and just had to meet her. Even though they are from Chicago, they are Greenbay Packer fans and own 2 shares !!
They have 3 children: the oldest son and family just relocated to Switzerland with their only two grandchildren 8 yrs and 3 yrs old (!), middle son is the manager and PGA pro at a Shenandoah Valley golf course and is coaching his old high school golf team. Their youngest a daughter just got married in October and lives in upper state New York.
They have lived in Chicago, Indiana and Long Island then Virginia. They initially purchased 43 acres in New Market VA. Paul had the love of old houses especially Federal style but Dara did not like the idea of upkeep on an old house. So they compromised and built an new house that looked old. A lot of sweat equity was put into the farm, for example they did all the fencing and posts by hand. They love animals having nine horses, a few dogs, some chicken and for a very, very, very short time had a miniature potbelly pig named Jimmy Dean. HA! Funny thing is they were “taken”, as Jimmy Dean was not a miniature potbelly pig but grew into a 300 pound pig and roamed to the neighbors door looking food.
After being a stay at home mom until the two last kids were in high school, Dara went to work for Chiropractor in Woodstock, VA for 9 yrs and retired in 2016. Paul was in retail Management retiring in 2020. They purchased a sailboat named Sea Eagle, a 35 foot Allied Seabreeze. Paul found Yankee Point Marina and brought the boat up the ICW from NC. The boat actually lived in the area before they did.
They love the area and are meeting great people. Both love to travel and Dara likes to paint, but says her ability is only limited to paint by numbers. Paul loves to cook and started collecting old cars. He has a 69 AMX and a 68 AMC rebel convertible. He also likes to work on building model boats. He has quite the collection, ask him about them! They have not quite the pet menagerie in their animal kingdom - a talking parrot and dogs Jack, a mountain Feist, Jenny a silver Lab and their latest adoption, Buddy, a chocolate Lab.
Jim and Diana Smith moved to the Western Branch of the Corrotoman River from Woodbridge, VA, in December 2020. Diana enjoys gardening and cooking, and she is anticipating making some yummy dishes for the YPYC. They now look forward to spending relaxing days in the peacefulness and beauty of the Northern Neck - socializing and making new friends at the YPYC.
Welcome Christie Parker and Bobby Stroud! Christie's family is mostly in Southern Virginia( Bassett VA) which is near the North Carolina border. Bobby mostly grew up in Waldorf Maryland. They are both still working. Bobby is a computer field engineer who works mainly in Northern Virginia. Christie is the pharmacist at the CVS in Kilmarnock and works part time at the Rappahannock General Hospital.
Bobby has always been around water and boating. He would go out with his dad and later boated on the Potomac River in Woodbridge. Christie got introduced to boating when they both lived on the Potomac River. Since they bought their house here about 4 years ago they have a 24 ft center console for boating excursions.
They like to ride to Urbana and take their dogs out as much as they can. They have a walker hound named River they found ~3 years ago on River road on Christmas Day. They also have Charlie, a mix of all good dogs. He is mostly a cattle dog, who they rescued from the Franklin County Animal Shelter. Supporting local animal shelters is a big passion for Christie. She also enjoys planning activities and live music. Bobby loves working on his tractors, trucks and anything with tires in his barn. He has come to love being a country boy.

Glenn and Jane also enjoy power cruising aboard Good Trouble, their Mainship 430 Trawler, to ports and anchorages around the Chesapeake Bay and have been as far north as Block Island, RI. They also enjoy Rascal,a 21 foot center console, for visiting neighbors, enjoying water sports with the grandkids and taking cocktail cruises on the Corrotoman. Jane is an avid reader, enjoys gardening, walking & hiking and likes to plan trips to fun cities around special art exhibits. Glenn likes to do all things boating (maintenance and repairs) and is a skilled handyman/ project manager around the house. Both enjoy travelling (Portugal and Alaska are 2024 highlights) and being in the company of friends and fellow boaters for raft ups and cruises.
Tom originally from Chestnut Hill, PA and Erika (Suburbs of Baltimore, MD) met in Northern VA (Warrenton) before moving to Eagles Landing in 2015. However, Tom has been doing some serious fly fishing in the Northern Neck for 30 yearsand knows it well. He had a commercial business fly tying that serviced the entire East Coast. He was also Head Master of Ware Academy in Gloucester from 2004- 2019 but retired as their son Carson was headed to college. Carson is an accomplished sailing racer, so we are hoping he visits one of our YPYC races soon (after he graduates of course!).
Both are animal lovers having 5 dogs -(2 golden retrievers, 3 Irish hunt terriers) and 1 horse. Erika knows her way around a horse as she has brokered thoroughbred race horses. Currently Tom works with Bay Properties selling residential waterfront real estate in an area covering Colonial Beach to Gloucester Point. Leaving the health insurance business after 13 years, Erika now works for a nationwide vacation rental management company recruiting new properties to manage.
On the water, they make use of a canoe, kayak, a 20 ft Tidewater bay boat and a 13’ Whaler. Erika would like to learn to sail. She’s in the right spot! When they are not working or tending to their dogs Erika enjoys reading, cooking and gardening while Tom:” Eats what Erika cooks”, and does a lot of fly fishing.

Evan was a tax partner with a Big 4 firm in Dallas, specializing in the taxation of insurance companies, and then the head of tax for a publicly held, global property and casualty insurance group headquartered in Bermuda. Evan enjoys working out, collecting various vintage collectibles (antique beer cans, 60's Hot Wheels cars, baseball cards, etc.), listening to short wave radio and ham radio broadcasts and all sports. Susan was in charge of recruiting for a global, Fortune 200 company headquartered in Richmond. Susan enjoys Wordle, gardening, reading, boating, listening to music and working out. Susan and Evan love traveling, especially to the Caribbean, the Florida Keys and to the mountains.
Rick and Victoria lived in Northern VA (Vienna) for 10 years before migrating to Ginter Park Terrace area of Richmond and then eventually buying their home across from YPYC 5 years ago. They originally came for Summers and used their home during pandemic lock-downs. Rick retired last year and they moved here permanently. How did they come to land in Lancaster? Well they found their house online, visited once, walked out back, saw the river and that was it. They said -”this is the house!” Renovations are in progress on enlarging the main house after improvements have already been completed to the garage to include man cave, bar with tiki hut, and an office. They are interested in a creating a living shoreline and place to splash for grand kids – 5 kids and 3 grand kids between them. Rick relayed an amusing story, “When Victoria goes to visit grand kids in WV, they have access to a terrific butcher, so when she returns, you can tell it’s her as the front wheels of her car are off the ground… she has ~400lbs of meat in back of the car!” Meat comes in handy as they both cook- Rick cooks delicious biscuits and gravy, makes mean BBQ ribs and chili. Just about everything else consumable is a Victoria specialty.
Rick likes to play golf (if he has time), enjoys gardening and landscaping and they both enjoy crabbing and fishing. Victoria's free time is occupied with Art and antiquing, attending auctions in Richmond and filing a stall at Kilmarnock Antique Gallery. Her career was spent in mortgage lending before retiring in December. Rick’s background is in the building business retiring in 2020, as VP of a custom home builder. This means he dabbles in lots of construction projects (his house for one) although a wee bit smaller than the 10-15,000 sq ft homes his company had him oversee..
The Garbers are owners of Mojo, a 23 ft Chris Craft and an 18 ft catamaran they have yet to name. They are interested in continuing to learn to sail their catamaran. Loves of their lives locally are their dogs - Bernedoodle, Bella age 3 – “wader not swimmer”. Ladradoodle Bernie age 4 – “swims the river.”
Pete and Gail Hoynash are originally from Pennsylvania. They purchased their first sailboat in 1993 and did the 1998 Caribbean 1500 rally on her. They bought their current boat, a 1986 50 ft. Alumabot Cutter, "PeGa," in 2009. They spent the next 8 years rebuilding her at their home in Pennsylvania. They sold the PA house in 2018 and then sailed for five years in the Western Caribbean. Pete and Gail purchased a house on the Northern Neck of Virginia on the Corrotoman River in July 2021. They say they absolutely love the area!!
Ken and Heidi are life-long Virginians who have been married 22 years and have two sons, Nathanael and Aaron who are currently in college at JMU and George Mason, respectively. They also have a standard poodle, Lily, who was born to swim and is always eager for a dive off the dock or the boat. They reside in Arlington and have been active boaters for many years on the Potomac with their 2006 Rinker Fiesta Vee 342. They fell in love with the Northern Neck over the years and purchased a second home on the Rappahannock this past Spring to spend more time away from the city. Their boat, Spirited Lady, is currently docked at Belmont Bay but they hope to bring it down to Yankee Point next Spring.
Ken learned to boat, water ski, and wakeboard at his parents’ home on Lake Anna when he was a child. Heidi puts up with Ken’s boating endeavors and even agreed to take sailing lessons with him while several months pregnant. She primarily enjoys reading, napping, and drinking wine on the boat. Ken graduated in finance from Virginia Tech and earned an MBA from George Washington University and now works for an investment advisory firm in DC. Heidi earned both an undergraduate degree in education and a master’s in library sciences from Longwood University. She recently returned to Alexandria City Public Schools where she is an elementary school librarian.
Alexa was born in NYC and grew up near the water on Long Island. Her neighbors who lived on a common canal had either cabin cruisers or speedboats; she had a small sailboat — so much better (even if you couldn’t waterski behind it). Right now Alexa lives in Cape May, NJ, but still has a place in Brooklyn [which is currently occupied by one of her (two) daughters and her family].
When she was 19, she bought a one-way ticket to Paris and stayed for four years, but never lost the travel bug. One continent to go: no, not that one — Australia. She worked in publishing for most of her career — as a copy chief, executive editor, and writer — and she loved it, but is thoroughly enjoying retirement.
Alexa was introduced to the club by her cousin Beth and Dean Blair. She visits them as frequently as possible (she loves the Rivah!) and looks forward to spending more time among the community at YPYC!
Mike is 67 years old and grew up sailing beach cats off of the Jersey shore. He started chartering the bigger sailboats out of Rock Hall, MD in the early 90's. He has bareboat chartered many times on the Bay, also 50 plus foot monohulls in the BVIs, the Leeward Islands and a 38' cat out of Ft Lauderdale (“our 25th wedding anniversary”). Mike currently owns a 32' twin engine SeaVee center console, a 17' Triumph center console, and is a co-owner of a 27' S2 sailboat. Though he has lived in many states and places, Mike called Pennsylvania home from 1987 to 2021. He retired and moved to the NN in early June of 2021 after the unexpected passing of his wife of 45 yrs. Mike has been visiting the NN since 2003. Mike has been blessed to have found happiness again and now enjoys exploring the bay with his fiance Paige.
Jeanne Erickson and Jonathon Truwit relocated to Lancaster VA in January 2023 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where they lived for 9 years and sailed on Lake Michigan. Prior to Milwaukee, they lived in Charlottesville for 24 years and worked at UVA. Last summer they retired from academic life; Jon was a pulmonary and critical care physician and administrator, and Jeanne was an oncology nurse and educator. They are new owners of Spiritus, a Catalina 355. They also enjoy biking, hiking, birding, and cooking. They have three married children, one (very new!) granddaughter, and a chocolate lab named Bodie. They look forward to travel adventures - by land, sea and air - on their own and with their growing family.
Bill and Woody (Margaret) are celebrating their first anniversary after relocating to the Northern Neck following 42 years in Loudoun County. They found a cozy home overlooking Town Creek on the Corrotoman River and enjoy exploring all the local waters in their 24’ triple pontoon flying carpet called Farm Use.
Woody, the caregiver, retired after serving 42 years as an Elementary School Counselor, primarily with Loudoun County Public Schools. Bill, the futurist, was a multiple start-up entrepreneur, founder, and CEO in the Technology sector.
Bill and Woody have been married for 34 years and have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
They originally hail from Hagerstown, Maryland, where they worked in publishing before retiring to the Northern Neck. Two years ago they moved to the shores of Beach Creek because they were looking for a quiet place to live with nice people and water activities. They have enjoyed small boat sailing in their earlier years and now are on the water with their power cat deck boat. Alice and Scott have two children and two grandchildren, and a wonderful and handsome retriever named, Bo. They have found spiritual community as members of St. Mary's White Chapel Episcopal Church and working with the local Food Bank.
When you see Alice and Scott at the Club be sure and say, Hi!" They usually have smiles on their faces and are open to conversation and fun chat. We are happy to have them on board!
Dan and Carolyn first became members of YPYC when the Club began to build its present club-house. They lived at the end of Yankee Point Road and then later on Oak Hill Rd. They enjoyed the Club immensely. Carolyn even served as Rear Commodore during this time. They moved to
St. Louis to help babysit and didn’t return until four years ago. Although they were away, they still considered themselves out-of-state members for all those years. They now live in Hills Corner and are very happy to be back at the Club.
Rob and Elizabeth Baker hail from Arlington but have had a second home on the Rappahannock since 2017. Rob has been "fixing up" the house over the past several years. Now that Elizabeth has officially retired, they plan to spend more time enjoying the river and their boat - but especially the sunsets from their dock!
Rob and Elizabeth met at Virginia Tech where they both studied urban planning. Rob worked for Arlington County and then transitioned to land development management for major residential developers. Elizabeth worked for Fairfax County but spent most of her career working for a real estate law firm representing developers in land use issues.
They have three sons and one granddaughter. They enjoy family time, traveling to new places, gardening, and entertaining.
The Blairs come from Cape May to the Northern Neck to be nearer family -- two sons, two daughters and 10 grandkids. Another son is in China.
Dean is originally from Succasunna (that’s right) NJ. He went into the Air Force to become a ballistician – that’s an expert on the firing characteristics of a cartridge or explosion. He had a bang up career. After a stint relieving pilots of their hung up bombs in Vietnam and other EOD assignments, he moved to the civilian side of the explosives business with Hercules Powder. He did some R&D, and some things he doesn’t talk about, and ended up making things safe at the arsenal at Radford, Virginia. Along the way he spent some 28 years, off and on, playing guitar with small bands and club dates. Some of us heard his playing at our potluck a few Wednesdays back. His gentle interpretation of our generation’s classics mellowed the whole evening.
Beth grew up in Roanoke, majored in art at Hollins, and taught school, mainly pre-k to grade 2 – the little ones, still sweet. Beth is a dynamite cook (pun intended). Look for her creations Wednesdays and at our dinner functions. She continues her interests with the History-land art group and St Mary’s Whitechapel church. You will see evidence of her creativity around the clubhouse.
The couple’s boating experience is on Smith Mountain Lake where Beth’s food and Dean’s music made them essential members of crew.
We’re excited to welcome Pam and Dave Signori as new members of the YPYC community. Recently relocated from McLean, Virginia, Pam and Dave bring energy, creativity, and a love of the water to their new home a stone’s throw from the YPYC club house.
Dave is VP of product Management with Inflox selling network services. —and a rock drummer, budding triathlete, body surfer, dad, and husband. Word has it he may even break into an Elvis impression if the mood strikes. Pam taught Freshman English at SMU, spent a summer as a scout at an Oxford college, worked for a US senator and the Speaker of the House, owned a daycare for 60 children, and completed every New York Times crossword puzzle from January 1, 2006 to today. Her next project will be landscaping their new home on Myer Creek, and she is eager to get recommendations from any YPYC gardeners for inspiration. She has completed her TOGA (Tidewater Oyster Gardeners Association) class and is already raising oysters from spat at their NNK home which are projected to be ready for Thanksgiving! Together, Pam and Dave are diving into renovations and creating a beautiful living shoreline—combining environmental stewardship with coastal charm.
They’re also adventurous travelers (see picture) and proud parents to their son, Samson and daughter, Lily. Please join us in giving the Signori’s a warm YPYC welcome. We’re thrilled to have them aboard!
