Extension: Direct Observations

WARM UP: Group Map (10 minutes)

Materials: Large map of your city or town, push pins, pieces of string (such as yarn)

Place a large map of your city or town at the front of the classroom. Mark your school or program location with a large push pin.
Ask participants to come up and put a pin where they live and then connect a piece of colored string from their home to the meeting place. After everyone is done, ask participants if they see a pattern.
