After we had been running our club for some months, we found that the students continuously returned to discussing some of the challenges of their life before and after migration and aspects of growing up in England, such as going to school. We wanted to give young people the opportunity to share their personal life experiences through art, using the River of Life participatory method.
Club members visualised their lives using the metaphor of a river and in doing so, shared with us important life moments. Below you can read their impressions and see some of their artwork.
The river activity is about showing emotions through drawings of rivers and how it affected us by weather or the shapes of the river. Our lives are like rivers they have ups and downs and you never know what to expect but you keep flowing no matter what.

This is a river of events in my life starting with 2008 when I was born to 2022. In 2016, I was quite silly and decided to jump off a jumping frame, and so I did and it turned out that I broke my leg.
