Welcome!

At the Youngsville Museum of History, we are devoted to exploring, preserving, sharing and celebrating the history/heritage of the Town of Youngsville, from its original time of settlement to the current day. As we travel on this collaborative journey, we expect to uncover and collect forgotten or previously unknown historical information. We value your partnership on this journey through history.

Exploring the Historic Journey

The story of Youngsville is the story of America on a smaller scale. From its pioneer immigrant beginnings, its struggles, courage and Patriotism, Youngsville developed a strong sense of faith, community, hard work and opportunity.

Mrs. R.E. Cheatham was a charter member of the Youngsville Woman's Club, a historian, genealogist and author of "Sketches of Youngsville and Pacific". Mrs. Cheatham's years of historical research has laid the foundation for the preservation of Youngsville historical information. Her research has inspired and enabled the Youngsville Museum of History to continue to share the traces of its history.

This website presents a "Foundational Portrait" of Youngsville's History. It was researched, prepared and published by Mr. Paul B. Hawkins with contributions from Mrs. Mary Jo Buffaloe, in cooperation with the leadership of the Youngsville Museum of History. This significant historical undertaking was done in order to help you examine and better understand Youngsville's social, economic and historic journey from its beginning.

We sincerely hope that you join us on our journey to better understand the heart, soul and struggles of the Youngsville pioneer founding families and the "community" that made them strong.

Come join us on quest to better understand a part of North Carolina history, where we get to know the hearts and courage of those who have travelled this path before us.

Visit us and join us in understanding our past!
