The goal of this project was to assess the suitability of Striped Bass (Morone saxatilis) as host fish for Yellow Lampmussel. We conducted a laboratory trial to assess the ability of YLM to successfully encyst and metamorphose using Striped Bass in captivity.
Next steps for this project include identifying glochidia collected from wild Striped Bass. This will provide insight on which mussels, potentially including YLM, naturally infest this fish.Â
