One of our teamates accidentally dropped five plates on the ground at home. That was the moment the idea was born. We wanted to use these plates to test our prototype. We made a simple program, that looked at the image and tried to find shapes, that were allike. This program did, sadly, not work consistlenty, so we had another idea. As you can see on the second picture, we made simple shapes using LEGO pieces, but it still failed misserably. This failure made us move onto another problem.
"What is a georadar?" you may ask. Georadar is a device, that lets archaeologists see underground. As you can see on the picture, it is a mower-like device. It doesnt have a motor itself, so an archaeologist has to be its power source. If you ever had to push a mower, you may realize, that this is very time consuming and tiring on big excavation areas. We wanted to automate this process.
To summarize our efforts, we wanted to help archaeologists by automatizing a georadar, so it takes less time.
