We shared our project with LNX Robots team, Hexadron team - 5 times national Slovak champions, and Peter also pressented it at his school ZS s MS Za kasarnou.
The project was also shown to the archaeologist Catherina Parigi, and she evaluated our project with: "Bello! Bravissimi!👏", which means, great, good job.Based on all feedbacks, we added the visualisation of the underground.
IMPACT:
We created an automatic robot to help archaeologists to locate artifacts underground, which saves them a lot of time and work as well. There are products, that can scan an excavation area, but none of products we found could mark places to excavate.Â
WHAT WE LEARNED:
We learned about what archaeologists do and how they work. During the creation of our prototype we found out, that movement in terrain is more challenging than movement on a table. We tried a lot of sensors for detecting things and learned about their functions. We also learned about different ways to navigate a robot, that we have never heard about before.
