The College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) held its Recognition Day, at the Graduate School Function Hall on June 13. Celebrating students from diverse programs for their remarkable contributions and achievements.
The ceremony was attended by the College Dean, Dr. Rose Anna Refuerzo, Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Lydia Morante, and the Head of Student Affairs and Service Officer (SASO) Dr. Sonia T. Enrile, along with department heads Prof. Jeremy C. Ragot (Head of Accountancy Department), Prof. Darwin G. Navarosda (Head of Entrepreneurship Department), Prof. Giselle Janna Joyce C. Morcilla (Head of Marketing Department), and Prof. Melanie A. Aguilar (Head of Office Administration Department), together with faculty members of COBE and the parents of the awardees.
The ceremony spotlighted awards like the ROTC Leadership Award, Service Merit Award, Institutional Award for Leadership, Pre-Board Topnotchers, Best in Accounting Research (Thesis), Stenographer of the Year, and Bookkeeper of the Year. Including the Young Entrepreneurs of the Year, Best in Marketing Plan, Best Male and Female Presenter (Marketing Plan), Marketer of the Year, Best in Business Plan Implementation, and Best in Business Plan.

The 3rd-year students of the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSE), together with their parents and guardians, successfully completed their Pinning and Coating Ceremony, officially marking the start of their internship. The event, themed "Marking the Start of Career Growth: Fueling the Future of Entrepreneurship," took place on Thursday, June 5, at the EVSU Miguel Memorial Auditorium.
The ceremony was further honored by the presence of our esteemed guest speaker, Mr. John David Consunji, a distinguished entrepreneur, who inspired the students on their intern-preneurship journey. The program featured a Parents Orientation conducted by Prof. John Manuel G. Catuday, on behalf of Prof. Darwin G. Navarrosa, Head of the Entrepreneurship Department. The event discussed the requirements for On-the-Job Training and the upcoming Agri-Tourism Management with Experiential Learning Activity.
Furthermore, during the ceremony the YES Organization proudly presented loyalty and service merit awards to graduating students who have been active members, recognizing their unwavering dedication, leadership, and significant contributions to the organization's initiatives and growth throughout their time as committed members.

With the theme "๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฎ ๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ข๐ค๐บ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด๐ฉ๐ช๐ฑ: ๐๐ถ๐ช๐ญ๐ฅ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ณ๐ช๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ๐ด, ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ฑ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ธ," the Young Entrepreneurs Society gathered at the FH2 for their Leadership Training last May 30, 2025.
The event was graced by Professor John Manuel Catuday, the organization's adviser, along with the current and upcoming officers for A.Y. 2025-2026. The event also functioned as a Team Building activity and a Send-Off Party for the former officers, symbolizing the succession of positions to the new officers and giving them a chance to familiarize themselves with their roles and responsibilities.
The event ended with an exchange gift between the officers and a heartfelt message of gratitude and encouragement for the year ahead. This also included various activities that meaningfully served as a way for everyone to feel more connected, bonded, and closer.

Yesterday, May 29, 2025 the COBE Building was filled with the energy and teamwork of our Entrepreneurship students as they came together for the 2nd Semester Clearance Signing held at Room 32. As part of the process, those with sanctions joined a clean-up drive around the COBE Building.
This activity was more than just signing clearances. It was a reminder that being an entrepreneur is not only about business, but also about showing leadership, commitment, and teamwork.
A clean building, a clear record, and a step closer to moving forward. YES to ENTREP!

Last April 6, the Young Entrepreneurs Society proudly facilitated the extension activity titled โ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ข๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐: ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ๐โ at Brgy. 101 New Kawayan, Tacloban City. This was part of an extension project by the College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
The event was joined by YES Officers, BSE 4th year students, BSA 4th year students (Section A), the New Kawayan Farmers Association, CENRO, and the local barangay officials. Everyone worked together to help the environment and support the local community.
By planting trees, we are not only caring for nature but also helping create better and more lasting opportunities for farmers and their families.
Small steps like this can lead to a greener and better future.

On March 27, BSE 3rd and 4th-year students participated in a comprehensive Patent Drafting Workshop designed to equip them with essential knowledge and practical skills in intellectual property protection.
The workshop covered key concepts in patent law, the importance of securing legal rights for innovative ideas, and the step-by-step process of drafting a well-structured patent application.
Through hands-on exercises and expert guidance, students gained valuable insights into how intellectual property can serve as a vital asset in their entrepreneurial ventures, fostering innovation and competitive advantage in the business world.

Strengthening Entrepreneurial Innovation Through Intellectual Property Awareness
On March 6, 2025, the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) conducted an Intellectual Property (IP) Foundation Course at NCB Function Hall 2, gathering 3rd and 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSE) students alongside their advisers. This initiative aimed to deepen their understanding of intellectual property rights, fostering a culture of innovation, protection, and strategic utilization of intellectual assets in entrepreneurship.
The session highlighted the significance of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other forms of intellectual property in securing competitive advantages, preventing idea theft, and enhancing business sustainability. Through this knowledge-sharing experience, students were empowered to integrate IP strategies into their future ventures, ensuring that their creative ideas and business innovations remain protected in an increasingly knowledge-driven economy.
A special appreciation goes to our esteemed resource speaker, Mr. Jeremiah Edison C. Nicart, CPA, for his insightful discussion and expertise in intellectual property. The event featured the notable presence and inspiring messages of the Director of SASO, Dr. Sonia T. Enrile; the Head of the Entrepreneurship Department, Darwin G. Navarrosa; and esteemed faculty members from the Entrepreneurship Department.

This activity also highlighted the introduction of the YES Officers and their teams, along with their roles in serving as a governing body for the Entrepreneurship department.
Also, as part of this esteemed event, a special Awarding Ceremony was held to recognize the outstanding students of the BSE program who have excelled in various university-wide and inter-university competitions. This recognition was given not only for excellence but also for their dedication and participation in representing the name of the BSE program with pride.

With the theme โYES to Sustainable Entrepreneurs; YES to a Greener Future,โ the event aimed to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions through innovative products.
Various groups from different year levels of the BSE program participated in the challenge, presenting their product pitches to a panel of judges, with the esteemed panel consisting of Prof. Darwin G. Navarrosa, Head of the Entrepreneurship Department, Prof. Severo Blanco II, and Prof. John Manuel G. Catuday.
All contenders delivered well-thought-out presentations showcasing their eco-friendly innovations, with Eco-Slippers emerging as the winners of the challenge while Chill Burst and Plastic Pals emerged as first and second placers respectively.

Participants gathered earlier today at the Leyte Academic Center (LAC) GYM, Palo, Leyte as they embarked on a two-day Leyte Business Conference (LEYBIZCON) 2024, organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) - Tacloban City, Inc.
The event was attended by members of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) Organization,ย faculty members, and YES officers, including the YES President Jesalyn Martinez, Academic Officer Jeremy Aguirre and Former YES President Peter Luke Veloso.
With the theme, 'ASPIRE: Advancing Strategies to Promote Innovative and Resilient Economies,' the conference featured a job fair, product expo, and a business forum.
The conference also tackled about the progress of the economy of Eastern Visayas and the Eastern Visayas Regional Development Plan 2023-2028 by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

BSE freshies embarked on an insightful journey as they filled Function Hall 2 with enthusiasm, learning, and engagement for the BSE Freshmen Orientation 2024.
The event was attended by the freshmen students, with the notable presence of the Department Head, Prof. Darwin G. Navarrosa, along with the faculty members, who brought insightful messages of encouragement to guide the students in their academic journey within EVSU and within the program.
The hall was also filled with laughter and enjoyment as the YES organization facilitated a mini-games session, encouraging the freshies to engage and connect with one another and their peers.
