Brush the fur regularly with a pet slicker brush to prevent matting. Store your fursuit in a dry, cool place to avoid mold and odors. Use fursuit sprays,disinfecting sprays (Sanytol)Â for quick freshening up. Never machine wash the head, as it can ruin foam, adhesives, and other materials.
You can watch some Youtube videos too. Search for "fursuit cleaning tutorial" and check on other makers. All suits are diffrent so are their cleaning. The general is to avoid heat as the fur is plastic and melts.
Surface Cleaning: Mix a small amount of detergent with lukewarm water in a spray bottle. Lightly spray a soft cloth and gently scrub the furred areas.
Spot Cleaning: For tougher stains, apply the soapy mixture directly to the area, then blot with a clean, damp cloth.
Disinfecting the Inside: Lightly spray the interior with Sanytol (disinfecting spray) to kill bacteria and reduce odors. Do not soak the foam.
Drying: Use a towel to pat the fur dry, then place the head in a well-ventilated area, fan is extra goodie. Do not use heat, as it can damage the foam and .
