The Youth Council for Suicide Prevention (YCSP) is a group of high school students from the greater Cincinnati area dedicated to improving the mental health of their community. The group was created in 2013 by Cincinnati Children's Hospital and has worked in collaboration with 1N5, an organization that works to prevent suicide by erasing the stigma of mental illness and promoting optimal mental wellness, since 2018. Our mission is to work with the hospital and the community toward our goals of ending mental health stigma and creating tangible change through projects that engage students while making sure that we are taking care of ourselves and creating positive relationships among us. We use upstream prevention to create an uplifting community and healthy conversation around youth mental health.
