About
History
Young Academy of India was founded by Dr. Felix Bast, Associate Professor at central University of Punjab and an ex-member of INYAS (Indian National young Academy of Sciences). India have aplenty of academies for sciences (INSA, IASc and NASI), and a few for social sciences. However, we have not a single academy open for all knowledge spheres. Young Academy of India was born out of the need to foster the cross-talk between sciences, humanities and arts. YAI strive to be a democratic space for the free exchange of ideas. Trans-disciplinary knowledge exchange as envisioned in New Education Policy of the Union of India is upheld through our YAI.
