Artifact Description: I created and delivered this presentation for ENGL 352: Children's Literature at Trinity Christian College.

IPTS Connection: This presentation, connecting to 2E, allowed me to compile a list of diverse books to reference and share with others.

What I Learned: I learned that it is possible to find diversity in literature and students benefit from being exposed too authors and characters that look like them or come from similar backgrounds.

Artifact Description: I collaborated with my team's Social Studies teacher for a Black History Month research project. 

IPTS Connection: Students build background knowledge, select research project topics, and conduct research in Social Studies. The outlining of their essays was completed in ELA. This is interdisciplinary teaching and learning which connects to standard 2D.

What I Learned: I learned that students are more engaged when education in each of their classes overlap.
