How to reach IRCCS the Conference Venue
The IRCCS San Camillo Hospital is located in Via Alberoni, 70, 30126 Lido Venice (Italy).
Please check the position of the IRCCS on google maps to better understand the venue location.
Transports to the Venue
From Venice Train Station (Venezia Santa Lucia): You can take the Vaporetto Line 5.1 or 5.2 just in front of the exit of the train station. Alternatively, you can have a 5-min walk to Piazzale Roma (exiting the train station you go to the left and then cross the "Calatrava bridge", there you need to follow the indication for the appropriate dock for the 6 Line. The docks are defined with letters A, B, C, etc., and you can find the dock for the 6 Line in electronic timetables. At Piazzale Roma, there is also a large Information Office for Public transport, if needed)
From Venice Lido (Santa Maria Elisabetta Boat Station): Take the Line A bus. On some runs, and outside the summer period, Line 11 is also available. Get off at the "Alberoni San Camillo" stop (about 20-25 min ride, depending on the number of actual stops and the traffic).
From Piazzale Roma: Take the Vaporetto with a stop at Lido (Vaporetto Line 6, Line 5.1, or Line 2). Afterward, you can take the bus as indicated in the "From Lido di Venezia" section.
From Punta Sabbioni (Cavallino Treporti): Take the Line 14 motorboat with a stop at Lido. Afterward, take the bus following the directions given in the "From the Lido of Venice" section.
By car: Those who wish to arrive at IRCCS Ospedale San Camillo by car can do so by using the FERRY-BOAT Line 17. This is a public transportation specially designed to transport vehicles and passengers that runs the Tronchetto - Lido di Venezia route. Once guests arrive, they have the option of free parking inside the Hospital's parking lot. Please, if you want to take a car, write us at xpragit.2024@hsancamillo.it, before arriving to ensure the availability of a parking spot.
By train: if you have an accommodation that requires taking the train to reach Venice, just be sure that your ticket is for reaching Venezia Santa Lucia. From there you can follow the indications "From the Venice Train Station (Venezia Santa Lucia)", above.
From the Marco Polo Airport: there are several ways to reach the hospital and the best choice depends also on the location of your accommodation. If you need to go directly to Lido a good opportunity is to use the Alilaguna service, which is a boat departing from the Marco Polo Airport and docking at "Santa Maria Elisabetta Boat Station," see above)
Where to buy public transport tickets (and what to buy)
The company for public transport is named ACTV, you can find most of the information needed on the official website
Where to buy public transport tickets
You can buy regular tickets by walking 5 min from the Venice "Santa Lucia" Train Station (in Piazzale Roma, see map here) or at Santa Maria Elisabetta Station (see here).
Alternatively, you can download the AVM Venezia Official App from Play Store or MacStore. This may be a convenient way to buy tickets in advance. Please take into account that sometimes you cannot buy tickets on board of water buses, so we don't advise you to do that.
What to buy
Please keep in mind that there are two types of tickets:
Boat + bus: it costs 9.50 € per ride
Bus only: it costs 1.5 € per ride
Alternatively, for the duration of the conference, you may want to consider buying a 2-, 3-, or 7-day pass:
2-day pass: 35 €
3-day pass: 45 €
7-day pass: 65 €
Hint: probably if you have decided to stay on land or in Venice city it would be cheaper to buy a 2- or 3-day pass rather than several tickets
All details and other additional details on fares can be found on the official website.
