Call for Papers

The Call for Papers is open!

XPRAG.it 2024 Conference encourages submissions of abstracts in any area of experimental pragmatics, including neuropragmatics, developmental pragmatics, and clinical pragmatics as well as pragmatics in multimodal communication and formal/computational approaches to pragmatics

Types of submission

For XPRAG.it 2024 Conference three types of submissions will be accepted:

The pre-registration poster offers the opportunity to present plans for studies yet to be undertaken, rather than work that has been already completed.

Instructions for submission

The abstracts must not exceed 1000 words for the text, 10000 characters for references, and 2 figures. Abstracts should be submitted as a PDF file, with 2.54 cm margins on all sides and 12-point font size, single-spaced.

Abstracts must be written in English and should include a clear title but no information revealing the identity of the author(s)

During the submission procedure, indicate up to three appropriate keywords for your abstract, which will be used for session planning. Moreover, indicate your preferred option among "Talk", "Poster", or "Both". Note that Pre-registration abstracts can be accepted only as posters. Please indicate that your poster is a pre-registered one in the dedicated field.

Abstracts for pre-registration posters must respect the same word limits and should include the following sections:

- Introduction (background, reasons for carrying out the study, hypotheses…);

- Methods (how the hypothesis will be tested);

- Approach for statistical analysis (what statistical tests will be used).

Accepted pre-registration posters should include the sections above, plus any data collected since submitting the abstract, and any initial statistical analysis or conclusions.

The number of submissions is limited to maximally one as first (or sole) author (plus joint submissions where the author is not the first author).

**NOTE:** For accepted abstracts, the first author will be intended as the designated presenter of the talk/poster at the Conference. To encourage variation among the presenters, each speaker will be allowed to present only one talk or poster during the Conference.
