As part of developing the simulator, I connected the flight dynamics model to the visualization software, created the user interface, and programmed the code for logging and data processing after each test. I utilized the Simconnect Toolbox to enable communication between Simulink and the simulation game. Using MATLAB, I programmed the user interface to initialize the flight model with the appropriate properties and position the aircraft in the Handling Qualities Task Element (HQTE) field that I modeled.
During the test, I collaborated with Louis, the developer of the flight model, providing engineering support similar to a flight test engineer. I operated the simulator according to the test schedule, configured it for the pilot, and saved the results and some commands. After the test, I worked with project manager Patric to relocate the simulator and provided instructions to the team that would be operating it in the future.
