2024 Motel Xenia Kalampaka, Greece - Spring Semester
The motel Xenia in Kalampaka, was designed in 1953 by the Greek architect Aris Konstantinidis. The compositional idea of the motel, readable and clear. Two opposing volumes, arranged parallel to the elevation curves of the ground, with the car road passing between them, separating them into two distinct sections: that of the common areas (living room, restaurant, kitchen) and that of the rooms facing downhill and the view. A single sloping slab covers the entire complex, joining the two wings with a neck at the reception area. Where you used to stop with your car, take the keys to your room and continue along the road in order to park in the pilotis under the two elevated levels of the rooms.
