Culex tarsalis is the primary vector of West Nile Virus in Wyoming

West Nile Virus is a mosquito transmitted virus that occurs commonly across Wyoming. Reducing the spread of virus is a primary motivator for mosquito control efforts in the state. The very young, elderly and other immune compromised individuals are especially at risk. Symptoms can range from mild rash or fever to encephalitis or meningitis.
