Physical Science Resources

This Physical Science Unit is focused on the relationship between electricity and magnetism.  This includes the difference between static and current electricity, sources of electricity, parallel and series circuits, electromagnets and generators.

In this energy transformations integrated project, students will learn about various forms of energy and how they change.  This culminates with the construction and testing of a solar-powered car to see energy in action.

This Physical Science Unit is focused on the forces involved in motion, how motion is described and changed, and strategies for moving objects by application of forces, including the use of simple machines.

In this exploration, students take a trip to a fictitious city called Matterville.  Along the way they encounter a number of “challenges” that must be solved.  The topics include classifying substances, the molecular structure of matter, and properties of matter.

This includes states of matter, the organization on the Periodic Table, and the differences between physical and chemical changes.

This Physical Science Unit is focused on the characteristic properties and behaviors of waves.  This includes how waves are produced, how they transfer energy, how they are described, and how waves are used.
