WYESci was inspired by a common question asked in the classroom, "What's your evidence?" That question has been the focus of every exploration and scientific explanation. Nate Childers, the creator of WYESci, is driven to create a dynamic classroom environment that makes science come alive for students. He has 30 years of experience as a teacher, curriculum writer, and instructional coach. Nate has worked with teachers locally and nationally, as well as preparing prospective science teachers at Oakland University. In 2010, his work mentoring young scientists was recognized when he was presented with a Presidential Award for Excellence in Math, Science, and Engineering Mentoring by President Barack Obama. Nate was also named the Michigan Middle School Science Teacher of the Year, and has been honored for his contributions to protecting, improving, or celebrating the Clinton River, its watershed, and Lake St. Clair.
