Fun facts about hydrogen

- Hydrogen makes up 95-97% of all matter (by mass) in the known universe

- Liquid-hydrogen is used to fuel rockets

- Almost all space stations, shuttles, rockets run their internal systems on hydrogen and fuel cells

- Hydrogen fuel cells combine Hydrogen and Oxygen to produce electricity, water is the only by-product of this process.

- Although Hydrogen is all around us we don’t find it naturally on earth, we have to produce it.

- At worst Hydrogen Fuel Cells are around 8x more efficient than internal combustion engines.

During the week, one fuel cell will be given to each team –

- These are only to be used briefly during the week to test and to make sure they can power your invention, each fuel cell has a USB style output of 5volts @ 1amp.

- During the week you can use the UK Mains-to-USB adaptors included in the kit box for regular and long duration testing.
