Materials + Tools

Materials:

  • A sturdy flat bill cap (any/Amzn): $6.95 on Amzn
  • Long headwrap from Dollar Store: $1.00
  • Hair-tie from Dollar Store: $1.00
  • Industrial Strength Velcro: $5.36 on Amzn
  • Goosneck Clamp Phone Holder: $11.99 on Amzn
  • Recommended: 1ft charging cord

Step 1: Add Velcro to Cap and Charging Bank

1. Cut a piece of velcro (fuzzy half) and attach it to the front of your cap using the adhesive backing. Optional: Sew it into place to a longer lasting hold.

2. Cut a piece of velcro (hooks half) and attach it to your charging bank. You can now attach and detach your battery bank from the cap.

3. Optional: use another piece of velcro (hooks half) on the back of a patch to disguise your cap when you are not using the cap as a body camera.

Step 2: adding the Clamp to the Cap

1. Using the provided instructions that come with the phone holder, clamp the phone holder to the bill of your cap until it is tight.

2. Shape the neck of the phone holder to the shape of your cap so it looks something like this:

3. secure a hairtie to the back of the phone holder which will use further secure your phone.

Step 3: Adding Stabilization (optional)

Your phone holder may be unstable and sway as you walk and move your head around.

1. To add stabilization, take a long headwrap and wrap it around the gooseneck and the cap's adjustable strap as shown.
