Tap I'll Search For A Library to search for the local library by name or branch location
Enter the local library information in the text field.
When the local library is shown, tap it to select.
Tap Enter Library Account Details to enter the login information.
Type all the numbers as they appear on the card without any spaces. In the example below, the numbers would be typed as 23285001355981 (no spaces). Then tap Go. NOTE: Some libraries require a PIN, while others do not. If a PIN is required, a text field will appear once the card number is entered.
If the login information has been entered correctly, login will be confirmed. A summary of the account will appear. In the example on the left, the library has set a limit of 20 ebooks with 10 holds. Tap Next.
The logo for the local public library will display at the top of the Library collection. To locate a book, tap Explore. NOTE: There are two main components of the Libby app: Library and Shelf. Both components are displayed at the bottom of the screen to the left (Library) and right (Shelf) of the Libby logo. The one that appears in red text is the active component.
Tap What's Available. This will limit results to items that can be borrowed immediately.
Tap Available Audiobooks. This will limit to audiobooks that can be borrowed immediately.
In the example to the left, there are 1146 titles to browse through by scrolling. If a desired title is in the first page or two, GREAT! Proceed to step 12. If not, refine results further.
Tap refine. As Format and Availability have already been limited, the remaining options to refine the search include Language and Audience. The way in which the results are sorted can also be adjusted. Scroll through a page or two to find a book. Alternatively, results can be limited by genre. See step 11c.
In the centre top of the screen various genres are listed. At the end of this list tap More to see all genre options. In this example, tap Young Adult Fiction.
Scroll through the option and choose a title. To select the title, tap Borrow.
The selected title will be displayed. It will be loaned for the default loan period, however, this can be adjusted by tapping the identified loan period (in this example, 21 days). The card associated with the user borrowing the book will be displayed along with a tally of loans and holds. Tap Borrow.
The book has now been borrowed. To listen to the audiobook, tap Play Audiobook.
Tap the odometer icon to adjust the speaking rate.
Tap the moon icon to set a sleep timer that will automatically stop playing the audiobook after the chosen period.
