Hypnosis can help us overcome challenges and habits on the subconscious level. This method is a more relaxed and natural way of changing views or opinions on certain topics like addictions. Some people may think that they can handle their own feelings and force themselves to stop a habit only by using pure willpower. This is not always correct, Carla Chala, a clinical hypnotherapist says,”New, good habits need to be formed by changing beliefs, values and expectations at the subconscious, "feeling" level. This happens by improving your ability to identify a negative behavior, emotion or thought before it actually takes place.” From this quote, Chala is addressing that emotions are crucial in changing behaviors and habits. This is why Hypnosis is so helpful, it connects to your subconscious or “feeling” part of your brain and affects you in a more natural way.
There I was sitting in my car with the engine off. I couldn't bare to go inside and face my wife. How could I tell her I that I lost my job? How could I face her when I can't even face myself. My breaths are shallow. Full of pain and anxiety of an uncertain future. We just had our second child and I don't know how I will take care of them when I can't take care of myself. I am lost and I want to curl up into a ball and cry and at the same time I want break everything that I can get my hands on. I'll open the door and take it one step at a time. One, two. Just move and don't think. Three, four. Will she hate me when I tell her? Crap, stop thinking about it. Five, six, seven. A few more steps, no turning back now. Eight, nine, ten. I reach out for the door knob and I feel a flood of emotions that I can't control. The door swings open. I can control this, I know I can. I open my mouth to try and be casual when greeting my wife. Then I lose it. I collapse and my knees hit the floor hard. All I can do is sob and moan like an infant.
Car air bags save people's lives everyday. With the invention of the air bag it meant that people could have a greater chance of surviving a terrible car crash. Air bags along with seatbelt prevents people from slamming into glass and metal at high speeds. While admittedly many people still die in car crashes there is still no denying the success of lives saved from people hitting a bag of air rather than the rest of the car. The logic is simple: Air bags save lives and thank goodness car companies are required to install them on each new car that comes out.
