The Steps and Process of Brainstorming:
Step 1: Think about ANYTHING that comes to mind related to your topic (doesn't matter how silly or perfect the idea is. This is about generating ideas NOT perfection).
Step 2: Write down ALL the ideas on either a piece of paper or a digital document.
Step 3: Find where some of your ideas can connect or relate so they could be used to support a main point about your topic.
Step 4: Simplify each grouping into one short statement that could be used as a sub-topic to your topic. (Example if the topic is "Why five years of High School is bad" your sub-topic could be "It will cost more money" and this covers all the details you brainstormed related to it costing more money).
