Reports directly to the Group Commander
Assume command of the corps in the absence of the Group Commander and Deputy Group Commander
Coordinate and control the squadron operations staff
Establish committees by assigning appropriate cadets, outlining committee duties, establishing committee suspense’s (timelines) and monitoring committee progress at regular intervals, as directed by the Group Commander
Keep the Group Commander informed of all activities related to this staff position and especially on committees’ progress
Track the corps calendar of events
Recommend cadets for awards and decorations
Review Staff Reports with Support Squadron Operations Officer
Review submitted After Action Reports (AARs) within 48 hours of receipt and prepare an annual AAR at the close of the season for presentation to the Group Commander and instructors
Assist the Group Commander as otherwise directed
Oversee functions and provide direction for cadets under the Support Squadron
Reports directly to the Support Squadron Commander
Assume command of the Support Squadron during the Squadron Commander’s absence
Coordinate and control the flights and divisions.
Keep the Support Squadron Commander informed of all activities related to this staff position
Track the corps calendar of events.
Maintain the operational functions of the corps, to include oversight of the Public Affairs Officer, Recruiting Division, and Physical Fitness Officer (ETC.)
Collect and maintain extra-curricular events documents in the Events Folder
Ensure proper loading and closure of events (LDR, community service, etc.) in WINGS.
Monitor the planning, execution, and completion of events.
Review Staff Reports with Support Squadron Commander
Reports directly to the Support Squadron Operations Officer, prior to contacting the Support Squadron Commander
Assist the ASI with the receipt, issue and accounting of all items of uniform, equipment and supplies
Maintenance of the JROTC automated tracking system files may be required if the ASI concurs
Assist the ASI in maintaining supply records and inventories, as directed.
Train at least one cadet in each flight of proper procedures when filling out equipment hand receipts
Organize and supervise the maintenance, repairing, and cleaning of AFJROTC facilities, uniform supplies and equipment
Provide guidance to the cadet staff on proper supply discipline
Maintain an inventory of all uniform items and accessories the Cadet Corps receives
Issue and distribute uniform items to cadets
Maintain record of every issued item on paper and into WINGS
Maintain supplies and uniform items in a neat and organized manner
Organize all uniforms into a system based on sizes
Reports directly to the Support Squadron Operations Officer, prior to contacting the Support Squadron Commander
Authenticate, publish, distribute, and file all publications of the corps to include special orders, regulations, forms and other directives
Prepare and maintain cadet corps headquarters’ files and cadet personnel files
Maintain the internal distribution system of the cadet group, including the posting of current directives, special orders, and other notices on the unit bulletin board
Take down, type, publish, distribute, and post minutes of cadet group staff meetings within 48 hours of the meeting
Ensure all public orders are posted promptly and properly into each cadet’s personnel file
Keep the organizational chart current, post changes in grade, rank, and any other changes.
Maintain attendance records for cadet group staff meeting and other meetings related to cadet corps activities
Track and file After Action Reports (AARs)
Reports directly to the Support Squadron Operations Officer, prior to contacting the Support Squadron Commander
Keep the Support Squadron Operations Officer informed of all planned and forecasted activities
Form an enthusiastic recruiting team
Maintain a close liaison with the ASI to ensure that all-recruiting assignments are conducted with professionalism and completed properly
Manage the CTE-Day/9th Grade Day schedule and associated briefings
Brief all feeder schools on the advantages of AFJROTC prior to high school registration and coordinate the aforementioned briefing with the ASI
Reports directly to the Support Squadron Operations Officer, prior to contacting the Support Squadron Commander
Manage “The Knightly Newsletter” monthly (complete with upcoming uniform dates, important events in LDRs, the LDR practice schedule, important dates, pictures of cadets, any weekly quotes, date of next Commander's Call, etc.)
The requirements of the Cadet Handbook is to publish the cadet newsletter at least 3 issues PER SEMESTER, but monthly is preferred
Discuss yearbook matters with yearbook staff (A yearbook page is purchased for the corps each year)
Manage any WRHS AFJROTC social medias
Take photographs of cadets at AFJROTC events (including but not limited to joint-county JROTC field day, team practices, competitions, and field trips)
Create advertisements for multiple occasions (8th Grader Day, recruitment, applications for LDRs, etc.)
Publish and maintain monthly event calendars (usually in the newsletter)
Write any extra articles on cadet activity/excellence to publish on the bulletin board
Maintain the unit scrapbook & keep it up to date by the end of every quarter
This scrapbook contains anything relating to the history of the unit, tradition, accomplishments, records, and activities of the Cadet Corps
According to the Cadet Handbook, Public Affairs must “ensure that appropriate publicity of Warner Robins High School AFJROTC is directed to each of the following important public segments... (1) The local public (local news media – radio and TV), (2) The school public, (3) The organizational public (cadets), and (4) The administration public (the Principal, the Vice-Principals, Superintendent, School Board, and AFJROTC Headquarters”
ANY and ALL releases MUST be approved by the SASI
Reports directly to the Support Squadron Operations Officer, prior to contacting the Support Squadron Commander
Inform the Support Squadron Operations Officer of all results of PT activities
Coordinate and control all athletic events
Coordinate with the WRHS Athletic Department and Vice-Principal’s Secretary to schedule available training facilities for cadet use on physical training Wednesdays
Obtain the facilities schedule from the PE Department Head to ease scheduling
Determine warm-up exercises for physical training and provide a memo describing these exercises
A copy of this memo must be maintained in the cadet file cabinet
Train all Flight Commanders and Flight Sergeants how to lead the warm-up exercises
Determine which members will participate in activities
Oversee cadet preparation/participation for the annual Houston County JROTC Field Day Competition
Organize field day competition teams and establish practice days/times
Focus on events/competitions with other units
Provide refreshments for Corps events as designated by the instructors
Plan the Bataan Death March
Plan, execute, track, and enter into WINGS all PFT scores/awards
Ensure NPFT scores are entered within 10 school days of taking the test
Reports directly to the Physical Fitness Commander and Support Squadron Operations Officer, prior to contacting the Support Squadron Commander
Ensure that the team meets all the requirements as set forth in AFROTCI 36-2001
Train cadets in general Raiders procedures
Plan, direct, coordinate, and control sponsored Raiders meets
Order equipment and material to ensure team is trained and ready for the yearly competitions
Verify that all team members have a valid and current sports physical
Upload all data from practices and events into WINGS
Reports directly to the Support Squadron Operations Officer and ASI, prior to contacting the Support Squadron Commander
Ensure that the club meets all the requirements as set forth in AFROTCI 36-2001
Train cadets in model rocketry, model building skills and launching procedures
Plan, direct, coordinate, and control sponsored rocket/robotics meets
Order equipment and material (with the ASI's permission) to ensure the team is trained and ready for the yearly competitions
Recommend cadets to the ASI for award of the Rocket Badge
