Volunteering

General Volunteer Information

The Wren Band Boosters rely heavily on the participation of band members’ parents and guardians. We need the most help from parent volunteers during the marching band season (August-October). During this time, parents are called upon to chaperone summer band events, football games, and competitions. In addition to chaperoning, we also need help with the front ensemble equipment, props, sound equipment, uniforms, first aid, and fundraisers throughout the year. Without your commitment, the band program would not receive the meaningful support that is essential to the success of the program.

Volunteering in ASD1

Anderson School District One requires anyone who is volunteering in our schools to be an approved volunteer.  To complete an application for this, please click here and follow all of the steps on the application. Additional information can be found on our school district's website. Volunteers must re-apply every 2 years. Please make sure you begin this process early in the school year. We are not able to expedite any applications. If you are planning to go on a band field trip, you MUST complete the School Vounteer Field Trip Background check (BIB) process. You can access the School Volunteer Field Trip Background check here

Wren Band Volunteering 2023-2024

Prop Building/Painting

The Wren Band needs your help with props for our 2023 Fall Show! If you are interested and available to help assemble and paint props for the show, please email us at wrenband@apps.anderson1.org!

Football Concessions

The Wren Band program is running the Visitor's Concession Stand for all Home Football games! For each game, a section is designated as volunteer help, but we could always use more hands! If you would like to help run the concession stand for one or more games, please contact the band director for more information!

Prop/Pit Crew

If you are interested in helping to coordinate and assist in getting our Front Ensemble and/or Props on the field, then this is the place for you! The Prop/Pit Crew is one of the most important volunteer groups for the band, as they help us get on and off the field quickly and in an organized fashion to avoid timing penalties. We will need more help than ever in this area, as our props will be bigger and greater in number this year.
