About Me

Hello there! My name is Will Rizzi. This is my first year here at CCBC, but not my first in college. I am originally from North Carolina, and moved up to Maryland after high school graduation for college. While I hold my home state close to my heart, I have very much become acclimated to Baltimore, and have loved it since I got here. I love reading (or listening to) books, cooking, exploring new areas or cities, and playing video games.

School & Professional Career

I am currently working full-time at a local nonprofit as an Information Technology Support Specialist. Before entering my current job, I had attended University of Maryland - Baltimore County as a full-time student, studying Information Technology. During my second semester at UMBC, I obtained my CompTIA Security+ Certification. After obtaining this certification, I temporarily left school to start working.

Career Aspirations

I have always been interested in cybersecurity, in specific network security. It has been very fun at my job to treat our network as a puzzle I can solve, with the solution to be more secure, as well as more efficient. I hope to be able to transition to a network administration or engineer job next, to get more in-depth experience in the networking field. After spending time as a network engineer, I hope to move to cybersecurity, focusing on network security. I eventually look to enter management in the cybersecurity field, to lead a team in making a secure, yet efficient and user-friendly technology setup.

Current Favorite Video Game

My current favorite video game is "Cities: Skylines". I find it very relaxing to play on the weekends or after work when I have time. It is a city building simulator, I love the creative freedom it provides, as well as seeing the cities grow and change. I enjoy the challenge of balancing growth with sustainability, and seeing my city evolve from a small town to a large and beautiful city. I especially enjoy experimenting with different city layouts and planning styles, and I often spend hours just tweaking details to make my city look and function perfectly.
