Introduction

For this project, I must collect samples of different types of media and credit them according to their licensing. I also must explain the licensing and the media.

Video - YouTube Imbed

This is a good example of an embedded video. It can be played from inside of the website or it can take you to the original link of the video on youtube.

While there was no licensing information on YouTube about this video, it can be assumed that it is using YouTube's standard licensing, or is licensed to Alice in Chains, the band playing in the video

The video shows Alice in Chains playing the song "Would?" live on MTV Unplugged.

Animation - GIF

This GIF was found using google's images feature, and using the "Licensing" tool in the tools bar when searching for images to find GIFs that are useable under creative commons licensing. The GIF was imbedded into the site using the link found on the original website that the GIF comes from. This GIF was posted on Wikimedia Commons by user "Mattes". This file is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license.

Under this license, you may share or adapt the original content, under the terms that if you are sharing the content, you give proper credit to the original author, and indicate if changes were made. You also must distribute any adapted forms of the media under the same license as the original.

A GIF is an animated file that contains multiple pictures, flipping through each picture in the file at the creator's desired frames per second.

This photo was found using the Creative Commons website. From the creative commons website, it brought me to the original photographer's website, where I could download this.

This audio clip was obtained from freesound.org, from the user "Thirsk", posted May 27th, 2011. The sound clip is of an acoustic guitar.

Lessons Learned

This lesson taught me a lot about Creative Commons and media licensing. Before this I knew of Creative Commons licensing but did not know much about it. I have learned a lot about how the different licensing works and what each means.
