I grew up attending church with my grandparents in Ohio, where my faith first took root, and my lifelong commitment to ministry began. Over the years, I have served the church in many capacities, including four terms as a Deacon and five terms as an Elder, consistently offering steady leadership and pastoral care. I have led numerous Bible studies, taught Sunday School faithfully for ten years, and guided countless prayer groups, helping others grow in their walk with Christ. For fifteen years, I have also served on the Worship Team, contributing to the spiritual life of the congregation through music and praise. My formal training includes completing the Commissioned Ruling Elder courses at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, earning my Certificate in Congregational Leadership in April 2024. Today, I continue to serve God’s people as pulpit supply in Central Florida, a role I have carried out for the past two years with dedication and joy. 

You may all know that I have agreed to take on all the preaching and teaching responsibilities for our church, at least until the end of 2026. Finding ministers to preach, let alone lead the Sunday school and the midweek bible study is well-nigh impossible and during the vacancy we want our congregational life to run as smoothly as possible. What qualifies me to do this, you might ask, and rightly so. Before coming to the States I served my congregation in Scotland for over 13 years. I am a fully ordained church of Scotland minister and was in good standing with my former presbytery, besides having served as moderator on two separate occasions. Although now retired from the full-time pastorate I have a good idea of what is needed for Westminster to remain strong and hopefully grow during this time of transition. Pray for me and all of us that God will guide us through this time and will allow us to become a stronger people for him.

Jean was born and raised in Vero Beach, FL.  She graduated from Stetson University and taught mentally and physically handicapped students for 10 years. She began bookkeeping in 1985, when she was employed by her father’s citrus company while on maternity leave from teaching.  In 2005, she began working as the bookkeeper for the Vero Marine Center where she is still employed as a consultant.  She has been the Treasurer for Westminster since 2012.

Jean has 2 children and 4 grandchildren who are a very special part of her life.  She has always loved music and accompanied her high school chorus for 4 years, the choirs at First Baptist Church for 17 years and the choir at Westminster Presbyterian for 14 years. 

Martha has a bachelor’s degree in Piano Accompanying from Shenandoah Conservatory.  In 2024, she relocated to Florida from Long Island, where she   served in several different churches, both as a musician and as a deacon. While most of her experience has been in traditional style worship, she enjoys introducing the congregation to various styles of music,  including classical, contemporary Christian, and gospel, to name a few.  Her goal is to create

a worshipful experience through music.  She  teaches piano and  beginner violin, and plays the organ.
