Individual Writing Contest - Submission Form
Grades 7-9 & 10-12: A reviewer for School Library Journal states, “Tackling serious issues while tantalizing the taste buds, Park offers readers a thought-provoking, character-driven novel that explores themes of identity, family, and racism. Jackie struggles with microaggressions, the rise in Asian hate since the COVID-19 pandemic, and the shame surrounding her brother’s stint in prison.” Explain which issue you feel is most prominent in the novel and justify your choice with supporting text evidence.
Individual Art Contest - Submission Form
Grades 7-12: Students may submit 3-6 pieces of artwork based on any one or more of their readings. The artwork can be illustrations, paintings, sculptures, etc.
Super Trivia / Questions - Submission Form
Each team may submit 30 multiple choice trivia questions (5 per book). Each question must have four possible answers with the correct answer underlined and the page number of the answer indicated in parenthesis. Questions must be typed with the title of each book at the top of each page. Questions should deal with trivia, not significant details. However, they should not be too far-fetched. A single cover page should indicate the name of the school and the names of all members of the team along with the team number. Questions should be submitted on the Google Form by the deadline. Failure to follow any of these directions will result in loss of credit.
Video Response - Submission Form
Each team may submit a 5 minute (maximum) video segment based on/or in response to one or more of the assigned readings. The entry should be submitted on the Google Form by the deadline. Failure to follow any of these directions will result in loss of credit.
*Teams earn 30 points for submitting both the questions and the video response. Teams must submit both the questions and video response to earn points.
