Noa WF Grooms

Noa Grooms joined the NeuroLab as a Ph.D student in January 2019. He obtained his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Florida. Noa seeks to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying lesion-conditioned regeneration in C. elegans. He employs a forward genetic screen in a chronically conditioned background following mutagenesis, leveraging a fluorescent proxy for regeneration. Additionally, Noa studies how the origin of neuronal activity and how the timing of activity regulates axon regeneration.
