This open discussion and critiquing of fellow scientist within the creation community is a healthy sign. I suspect there will be an ongoing debate between the relevant scientists. However, even a 5% difference is a huge difference that involves a lot of information - which random mutations will never generate. Miracles
'Does combing the evidence of Professor Craig Keener on the existence of modern miracles with the recent research of John Earmen, in his book Hume's Abject Failure, provide us with a potentially irrefutable case for the existence of miracles? If so what are the consequences of such a conclsion?
I would argue that the overwhelming evidence we now have for modern miracles has eternal consequences regarding our relationship with God (Matthew 11:20-24) and it invalidates the concept of a closed universe, therefore making the position of methodological naturalism as currently formulated untenable. This effect on methodological naturalism will have significant ramifications on the scientific world, especially in the social sciences, psychology and neuroscience, where the concept of a non-material soul has long been excluded from scientific study. It will also have an effect on scientific theories about the origin of the universe, the debate over intelligent design and the geological evidence for a world wide flood; because creation and the world wide flood are both examples of miracles on a very large scale.

Cosmology

(I have to confess that I remain unconvinced by his solution - it may be correct but I need more persuading! This problem is probably the most persistent issue with regard to a recent creation, however there are other issues which also need considering e.g. Radiometric dating, the over abundance of coal, limestone, chalk and other rocks that are associated with pre-flood life. Within the creation literature there exists discussions of these issues with tentative answers - I say tentative because often we are not in position to give anything more certain because of our limited knowledge. The fact that creation scientists cannot give definitive answers to every question is not unexpected when we remember how little we know about the world and particularly its past - creation and the worldwide flood were one off events which are for obvious reasons difficult to recreate in a laboratory. That does not mean we cannot find evidence to support both events but it does mean we are unlikely to answer all our questions to our full satisfaction. That said, I am fully persuaded that the evidence presented in this website is sufficient to prove beyond reasonable doubt that a recent creation and worldwide flood did take place. Since writing the above paragraph (Nov 2021) I have become aware of an alternative look at Cosmology by Barry Setterfield. He has produced two videos discussing a plasma hypothesis with respect to cosmology and the effect of ZPE (zero point energy) on the Universe and how we observe it. They both look interesting, however as I am unable to assess their validity I leave it for others to judge.

It is also worth noting that Barry Setterfield has a different understanding of Geology - arguing that much of the fossil record is the result of catastrophes after the Flood. I remain unconvinced that his alternative is plausible because the work of Kurt Wise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=882fmumdm9A&t=27s and Michael Oard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lomau0IBCCo clearly indicates the need for a continental and in many cases transcontinental flood event of incredible power to create the fossil bearing sedimentary rock layers beneath us and the land formations we see around us. I believe such geological features can only be arrived at by a single catastrophic flood and therefore the layering of the fossils, that concerns Barry Setterfield, must be a product of that process, even if we at this present point in time cannot fully understand how that layering took place. However it is important as an academic community that we do not dismiss Setterfields observations. Engagement in discussing alternative paradigms is needed, even if you strongly suspect they are incorrect, because as Proverbs says ‘iron sharpeneth iron’. For example Setterfields observation that an increasing ZPE brought about by the expansion of the universe would have a significant impact on radioactive decay rates has the potential to be a very interesting line of research with regard to radio-metric dating. What Wise, Oard & Setterfield illustrate is the perennial problem facing the creation science movement. These are good individual scientists doing ground breaking research, however none of them have the resources in manpower, equipment or finances to fully explore their ideas in all the minute detail one would wish for. Having said that there is still more than enough evidence in Oard’s and Wise’s work to overturn any possibility that the fossil bearing sediments developed over millions of years and I believe Setterfields work on ZPE is exciting and worthy of fuller examination

Ancient Egyptian Chronology
Alongside a robust defence of a recent creation there also needs to be an examination of ancient Egyptian chronology so that there is a proper tie up between Egyptian archeology and the biblical timeline. The following video gives a recent account of one such attempt which looks very promising (it is worth noting that a number of archeologists are of the opinion that ancient Egypts chronology should be reduced by about 250 years).
