Services & Pricing

At Woodlane Swim Academy, we offer private and semi-private swim lessons for all Lifesaving Society Swim For Life swim levels including preschool, swimmer, adult, and fitness swimmer. All lessons are taught in the privacy of our backyard and offer more help and attention to each swimmer. 

Sessions are typically booked in five-day blocks and each lesson is 30 minutes long. We offer lessons Monday to Friday. Swimmers will come at the same time, Monday to Friday, for all five days, and for all five lessons.

Please note: The Red Cross no longer runs or books swimming lessons as they have decided to focus on humanitarian efforts. Because of this, The Lifesaving Society is now endorsed by the Red Cross and runs swimming lessons. So, if your child was previously at the salamander level, their level will be converted into a numbered level instead of the regular sea creature levels. The Lifesaving Society's numbered levels have the same requirements as the Red Cross' sea creature levels. Click the button below for more information about the transition.

In our private lessons, one swimmer will be assigned to one of our instructors. The instructor will work one-on-one with the swimmer as they better their swim skills and pass more levels. In private lessons, swimmers tend to move through the swim levels more quickly because the instructor is able to focus, help, and be extremely attentive to one child instead of many children in a larger group. We suggest weaker swimmers or younger children be enrolled in private lessons to better ensure their comfort and desired pace in the water.

In our semi-private lessons, two to three swimmers will be assigned to one of our instructors. Like our private lessons, the instructor will give each swimmer plenty of one-on-one attention and assistance but there will be a few other swimmers in the group who require the same. So, the instructor's time will be equally divided among the swimmers. Semi-private lessons allow for more social interaction between swimmers. Stronger swimmers or children over the age of five are better suited for semi-private lessons because they are more comfortable in the water and able to learn at a group's pace.
