Ever have a class that just CAN'T stop bringing in things from home to share with the class or worse...sneak to their lockers to play with? I had one of those classes last year, so I knew I had to pick a few days to make toys a part of our learning. During reading, students were able to bring in their favorite toy from home to tell about using our main idea graphic organizer. Another way we incorporated our favorite toys was in a Superhero STEM challenge!
This STEM challenge is a bit messier! If you teach younger students (K-2), I would recommend taking the time to complete this as a whole class. Older students could definitely complete this independently, with partners, or in small groups.
