My name is Alexia Hooghiem, I am the woman behind Moonchild Minerals. I am based in London, Ontario where I do have a fulltime job but this little business was started when I was laid off during the first round of lockdowns in March which lasted about 4 months. After I went back to work in July I still continued to make bracelets on the weekends and when I came home from work.
I made this business out of my love for crystals. I could be surrounded by them 24/7.
The thing about crystals is not one is ever the same.They are all unique in their own way even if you have multiples of the same crystal. I took that in mind and made sure each bracelet I make is not the same, Crystal placement is everything to me. I try to get gemstones outsourced from within Canada as well. It's hard so sometimes I'm not able to but i try hard to do this.

How does consuming cannabis help your creative process?
When I get ready to make any bracelet be it for a specific order or my creative juices just come to me, I bring my smoking accessories to my work table which is the dining room table. I always smoke indicas for my personal ailments and it actually helps me focus on my bracelet making as well. Which is Perfect!
I didn't have to really change the way I smoked. Right now I am smoking a strain called Black Kush, I'm finding this strain really helps when making my bracelets, But if I really had my choice it would be Lindsay OG. It allows my mind to open up and think of new ideas or inspirations I like to call them, also allows me to be focused without too many distractions.
The results are beautiful gemstone bracelets which are the true stars.
