Sarah Offenbach
From NASCAR to IndyCar and beyond! Sarah Offenbach rekindled her passion for motorsports in recent years. Having met her now husband, whose goal was to be a race engineer, she spent more time traveling to races, slowly crafting her own content. Sarah always loved the sport, but as she said, “this took on a whole new level.”

Q: What sparked your interest in content creation within motorsports?
A: I have been trying to get into the industry myself, and it's been a long-term goal for the past four or five years, but I never really knew which avenue to take. Until last year, I was at St. Pete, and I attended the Arrow McLaren International Women's Day panel. Someone introduced me as a motorsports content creator, and a light bulb went off, and I said, “You know what? I should create more content about motorsports in general and my life with it.” So my interest in content creation happened naturally.
Q: Within your content, what is a “niche” you have (a series or a type of creation that is specific to you)?
A: Creating friendship bracelets started in 2023, at Mid-Ohio. I had gotten waitlisted for the Eras tour, and I kept seeing videos of people trading friendship bracelets and meeting people through that. So at Mid-Ohio, I brought some friendship bracelets, and I ended up meeting a few people. From there, I kept making them and just kept meeting more and more people. It definitely started out from the Eras Tour, but it's turned into its own thing.
Flash forward to the twenty-four hours of Daytona in January this year, people brought rhinestone glasses or buttons that they made. It was cool to see that everyone's bringing handmade things that they spent time on and effort in order to share them with the community.

Q: What’s important to you about building your motorsports community? What values do you consider?
A: I love being a safe space for everyone. A majority of my community who come to my meetups are women, but we also have people from the LGBTQ+ community. We have men come as well. It's just a place where people can meet others and feel connected, rather than going to the races by themselves.
A lot of people have come to the meetups by themselves and end up leaving with new friends. As it is such a male-dominated space, it's important to me to make sure everyone feels kindness, positivity, welcomed and comfortable.
Q: One thing you’d want to say to new women fans looking to join or learn about motorsports.
A: A lot of people are scared because they don't know all the rules about the series. It's a learning curve and things change. The more you show up, the more you learn, and you get to grow.
Fear held me back a lot, but you'll find that once you do it, it's so rewarding. So, ignore the fear, ignore the embarrassment that might happen, and just go for it.
