Electronics Engineer, Digital Systems
Electronics Engineer, Digital Systems
I graduated as an Electronics Engineer from The University of Queensland in 1965.
During my undergraduate years, a few significant things that may have influenced my future path include:
Transistors - this exciting new semiconductor technology appeared on the market - what opportunities these devices promised!
Another was from the wonderful Leo Howard, a mathematics lecturer, who taught us how to program the university's GE225 computer. This was the first computer in Queensland and I was hooked.
The stories here are a collage of my memories about various events during my life-time thus far as an engineer during the emerging digital computing and data communications age. Some events are notable firsts that I happened to get involved in, while others are about things that I found fascinating.
Please feel free to say hello. You are also welcome correct my aging memory about this ancient history and add your own view to these stories.
