Canadian Tire Fund help financially disadvantaged kids get involved in organized sport and recreation by covering the costs of registration fees.

Who Can Apply?
Age: 4 – 18
Individuals – not teams or groups or elite athletes
What does the Grant Cover?
Registration fees for sport and recreation (must be physical activity based) programs that are on-going activities or programs
Sporting Equipment
Does not cover one-time events (i.e. tournaments, competitions)
How much can I apply for?
Grants are available for $300.00 per child per session to a maximum of $600.00 per year.
Approval is based on Statistics Canada’s low income cut-offs. Proof of income must be provided (income tax return or proof of assessment).
Where does the cheque for the funding go?
Canadian Tire Jumpstart grants are made payable to the sport, recreation or club association
Kidsport
Application: Provincial Fund - KidSport Nova Scotia (kidsportcanada.ca)

Age: 18 years and under
Individuals – not teams or groups
What does the Grant Cover?
Registration and equipment fees for sport programs (organization must be a member of Sport Nova Scotia)
Does not cover one-time events (i.e. tournaments, competitions)
How much can I apply for?
Grants are available for $500.00 per child for registration fees and equipment. Each child can only receive one grant in a calendar year.
Approval is based on Statistics Canada’s Low income cut-offs. Proof of income must be provided (income tax return or proof of assessment).

KidSport grants are made payable to the sport organization
